Decoding Your Way to the Perfect Blackjack Strategy

There’s no doubt about the fact that Blackjack is a popular game and everyone wants to play it. While playing it, people also want to do it right and look towards taking hold of opportunities that come along the way. And one of the best ways to do this is to include a Blackjack chart and subsequently take you closer to a strategy.

You don’t necessarily have to play at the best online casino UK if you want to get it all right because the thing that you need is a strategy emerging with the addition of a Blackjack chart.

A Basic Blackjack Strategy

The best way to get hold of a Blackjack strategy is to start with the basics. You should, at all times, look towards the game by thinking about the basics and then consider what you need to do and what you shouldn’t be doing. Whether you are playing with a live dealer or just a regular dealer at a brick and mortar casino, you need to include a basic strategy and ensure that it works to the fullest.

The Strategy Chart

A Blackjack Chart or more popularly known as a strategy chart is what you require to understand the game and more importantly bring about a strategy into the mix. The chart keeps you informed about how to play your cards and what to do when being subjected to a certain value.

Should you go for the hit, stand or even double depends upon how hard or soft your style of play ends up achieving. So read the following chart by keeping in mind that it talks about what you need to do when it talks about a certain value for your hand.

• When you have a hard hand

Hard 2 to 6 7 to A
4 – 8 Hit Hit
9 Double Hit
12 – 16 Stand Hit
17 to 21 Stand Stand

As you can see, the table includes your move for every value except for 10 or 11. The main reason for the same is because such a scenario calls out for an action that is different from what you would expect. While you don’t necessarily need a Blackjack calculator for the same, you just have to check the dealer’s condition.

For example, if you hit hard at 10 or 11, you will have to double for 2 to 6 and only double for 7 to A if your dealer is having 9 or less. But the dealer has a 10 or even an ace, you need to hit.

• When you have a soft hand

Soft 2 to 6 7 to A
13 – 15 Hit Hit
16 – 18 Double Hit
19 – 21 Stand Stand

Since a soft hand has a chance of going bust, it is quite important that you play it right. Without understanding the scenario and especially without understanding the difference between hard and soft hands, you cannot play Blackjack. So look towards exploring such options and then make it a point to get something out of this strategy.

While you are now aware of what to do when you have a hard and soft hand, it is time to know when to split the hand. Splitting the hand in Blackjack is essential for bringing about a difference to the game and marking an impact with the values you have in your hand.

• When to split

Splits 2 to 6 7 to A
2/2 – 9/9 (2, 3, 6, 7 & 9) Split Don’t Split
8 / 8, A / A Split Split
4 / 4 – 10 / 10 (4, 5 & 10) Don’t Split Don’t Split

Points to Remember

As we all know, Blackjack is a game that can change in an instant. Whether it is a popular variant of Blackjack like Blackjack Switch or a unique one like War Blackjack, every variant is subject to instant changes that can make or break the scenario. Since these changes also include mistakes, we have listed a few important points for you to remember.

• Forget insurance

While it may feel natural to take insurance, it is better to reserve this option for your health, your vehicle and other things except while playing Blackjack. Insurance, which pays out 2:1, only occurs in the event when your dealer has a natural Blackjack.

And by looking into the odds and probabilities of the dealer getting a Blackjack, you will realise that the chances are few and rare. While it is not impossible, it is still far from being a good bet for you.

And this situation applies to all kinds of Blackjack games including Blazing 7s Blackjack because the insurance bet, at times, is also known as a side bet.

• Don’t only aim to get close to 21

If reaching 21 is seen as your only objective, you will not be playing Blackjack in the manner that it should be played. While reaching 21 increases your chances of winning, you have other things to look at, especially scenarios where you have to stand.

As mentioned above in the table, these scenarios are something that you have to look into and ignoring it won’t do you any good. Looking to stand in Blackjack does fit the bill for the right situation and you should always consider it.

It tends to be the same even for a game like Multi-Hand Blackjack because looking to hit and stand in Blackjack takes you closer to playing the game right instead of only aiming for 21.

• Forget tables that play with CSM (Continuous Shuffling Machine)

Blackjack tables that use CSM are ones where the action moves swiftly. Due to that, they might not be the ideal fit for you as it limits your chances of getting things right. Your moves might also be limited because you might not be able to understand the pace of the game.

So forget such tables and remember all the other points that we have mentioned so far, including a Blackjack chart.
